Dr. Edelberg's comment: Conventional physicians are utterly clueless about the concept of detoxification. I wasn't taught anything about it in medical school and not a single one of the University of Chicago residents who rotate through my office have ever heard of it either (most have never heard of Drs. The concept of detoxifying ourselves comes from naturopathic medicine and intuitively it makes a lot of sense.
