Lavender oil is the “Swiss army knife” of essential oils, helpful for many health conditions and one of the few essential oils that can be used undiluted. Inhaled, the scent of lavender helps calm anxiety. Rubbing it on your temples eases a headache. Applying it to a mosquito bite relieves the itch. Add lavender to lotion or to a carrier oil (like almond oil) and massage into your belly to ease menstrual cramps, or lightly massage it over cramping muscles to relieve the spasm. Lavender added to aloe vera gel is great for sunburn and sun-damaged skin.
